Merry Christmas from my family and the big creepy snowman we built together (last year, haha!)

(Also, last years picture, but who cares! It’s the whole family by a Christmas tree what more can you ask for?!? 😜)

Some moments just have to be enjoyed in real time, not with phone in hand and today held many of those moments. My kid’s reactions to the simple gifts we gave them this year blew me away. They were genuinely ecstatic for new blankets, books and a cheap writing tablet. It made my heart so happy. I am so very blessed to have a family that is so naturally grateful for the small things in life. I hope they never change. 💗

I grew up in the rural areas of Manitoba, Canada and never left. My home is surrounded by fields and farmland without the busyness of people rushing by or heavy traffic. I love it here. Writing has always been a way for me to process life. I have been a writer from as young as I can remember. From winning poetry contests, to being featured in my local newspaper and now working on my first novel, I can truly say that it is a big part of my life. Other than writing, my life is fairly simple: I am a stay at home mom with 5 beautiful children. I’m married to my best friend, who works for local internet company. I decorate cakes. I love running. And my faith in Jesus keeps me going.

  9. Beautiful photo. 🙂 I’ve never been one to take family photos. I’m sure I’ll regret it when I’m old and grey.

    Your face is so familiar (sorry if that sounds creepy). I bet we’ve met, or at least seen each other. I really wouldn’t be surprised to find out if we live in the same city/town. LOL.

    1. That’s so funny, and no, I’m not creeped out at all! Photos are sure precious to me, the best thing is their value just increases over time.
      I live just outside Steinbach, MB. It’s very possible that we’ve crossed paths before 😃
